About Chicago Detective Explorers
Chicago Detective Explorers, or CDE, was born from a unique blend of experiences and a passion for education. Founded by Detective Jesus Magallon, a Chicago Police Detective with a PhD in Educational Leadership, CDE aims to revolutionize test preparation by providing high quality supplemental study guides at accessible prices.
Det. Magallon’s journey began in the classroom as a Chicago Public Schools teacher, and he has dedicated over 20 years to education in various capacities. This extensive background, combined with his detective work, has given him a unique perspective on how students learn and how they can achieve their goals. CDE offers test prep guides for secondary and post-secondary students preparing for exams like the ACT, SAT, LSAT, and MCAT. What sets CDE apart is the innovative approach, using the SHIELD approach and DETECT method to make learning engaging and effective. Det. Magallon’s vision is to empower students to “think like a Detective” and tackle test prep with confidence and enthusiasm.
